Is stealing co-worker's lunch is a culture thing?


I was shocked yesterday when I saw there was a paper in office kitchen asking people stopping stealing others' lunch !

And today we got such email,
















Then I searched in google, I found lots of posts was talking about that.  It's funny.

    Thanks for sharing Shu. I have never heard of someone stealing another person's lunch at work before, but I guess it must happen! Stuart

    Wow! I have never heard something like this around here. Actually, in my country, I remember wen I was in elementary school, someone stole my lunch and it wasn't the only one, that happened a few times to others classmates. Personally I don't think is a culture, actually is a bad thing because you never know what is inside that food, what I mean is, you could be allergic to something that could be in that lunch so, be careful if want to try it LoL! Any ways there is the funny side that in the videos you can enjoy. A good moment to share with friends.

    Honestly, that situation sometimes had happened when I was in Korea.
    So I am not surprised about that.
    In Korea, people' relation are too close to divide their belongings.
    I heard that people sometimes share their underwear as well.

    However in Canada, the reason which I guess is different.
    I sometimes see the person who is eating something before paying money and they bring only package to cashier.
    I think it will be criminal.

    Then when I go to preschool, I usually think that Canadian parents don't scold their children too much.
    Therefore they are very selfish and they can't think about someone's mind.
    As a result of it, for instance there are lots of dust in the bus, skytrain and on the road.
    The most important thing is education.

    For preventing being stolen the lunch, the warning will not help for it.
    If Shu's company really want to catch the criminals, they have to set a supervision camera.
    And to give punishment, that will decrease.
